A Parkland Estate Seven Kilometres from Launceston

When evaluating places for a family stay in Tasmania on the family ranking, setting makes a substantial difference. Country Club Tasmania operates across two main sections in Prospect Vale: the main resort building on Country Club Avenue and the self-contained villas located at 10 Casino Rise. The property sits roughly seven kilometres from central Launceston and 15 kilometres from Launceston Airport, making a car essential for getting around.

Unlike high-rise casino towers found in capital city centres, this venue spreads across open estate grounds. The main benefit for families traveling by car is access to ample free parking directly on site. Those staying in the villas can park right outside their front door, which simplifies loading and unloading luggage, prams and groceries.

The resort opened in 1982 and is noted as Australia’s third oldest physical casino complex. It is operated under Federal Group, which also runs Wrest Point in Hobart. While the official venue pages do not publish an exact total room count for the entire estate, the resort clearly separates its accommodation into hotel rooms and independent villa units.

Indoor Swimming, Mini Golf and Outdoor Golf Upgrades

When weather turns cold or wet in northern Tasmania, indoor facilities become crucial. Country Club Tasmania features a single indoor swimming pool located inside the main resort complex. The indoor pool area provides year-round swimming for hotel and villa guests without relying on warm weather.

On the grounds, children and parents can play outdoor mini golf or visit The Range, a multi-storey driving range facility that was completed in late 2025. The main 18-hole championship golf course, originally designed by Robin Gibson, is currently undergoing a $20 million transformation. The resort publishes that the new 18-hole layout is scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27.

For fitness and general recreation, the estate also includes an on-site fitness centre. Families comparing aquatic facilities across Australia will note on the family comparison table that Country Club Tasmania offers an indoor climate-controlled pool rather than outdoor lagoon pools or waterparks.

Self-Contained Villas and Resort Room Categories

The resort publishes published starting rates across its primary accommodation categories, giving families clear expectations when planning trip budgets. The main resort complex offers 4.5-star hotel rooms, starting with Deluxe Twin and Deluxe King layouts, up to Courtyard Executive, Golf Executive, Courtyard Suites and Golf View Suites.

For larger families or longer stays, the 4-star self-contained Villas at 10 Casino Rise offer practical advantages. The villa categories include One Bedroom Apartments, One Bedroom Garden Villas, One Bedroom Golf Villas, Villa Suites, Two Bedroom Villas and Three Bedroom Villas. Having separate bedrooms and self-contained kitchen facilities allows families to prepare their own meals, keeping daily food costs manageable.

The property does not publish specific floorplan square meterage on its main booking pages, nor does it list a precise total inventory of villa units. However, the presence of multi-bedroom villas provides options for families travelling with multiple children.

Family Dining from Pizzerias to Watergarden Cafes

Dining options on the estate span quick casual meals to structured sit-down restaurants. Families looking for relaxed food can choose Bolters Pizzeria or Bolters Grill, both of which serve casual meals suitable for children. Watergarden Cafe and Watergarden Dining provide additional informal eating spaces during the day.

For regular restaurant dining, the property features Clubhouse Restaurant, Links Restaurant and Terrace Kitchen, alongside in-room dining services for resort guests. Beverage outlets on site include Bolters Bar & Bottle Shop, Clubhouse Bar, Tonic Bar and Watergarden Bar, as well as the Casino Sports Bar.

Because dining venues are distributed across the resort, families can eat at Bolters or the Watergarden outlets without walking through gaming spaces. It is worth reviewing what kids can do regarding minor access rules before visiting resort eateries.

Casino Floor Rules and Tasmanian State Guidelines

Under Tasmanian legislation and state liquor and gaming regulations, minors under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from entering casino gaming areas at all times. At Country Club Tasmania, electronic gaming machines are spread across two levels in the main venue, alongside table games including Federal Baccarat, American Roulette, Rapid Roulette, Federal Pontoon and Blackjack.

The resort operates distinct trading hours for different gaming sections. Main casino tables operate from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am Sunday to Thursday, extending to 3:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights. Gaming machines on the main floor open from 12:00 pm daily, while Watergarden electronic gaming machines open from 9:00 am daily. TASkeno and TAB facilities are also available on site for adult guests.

For families staying in the villas or resort rooms, the hotel accommodations, swimming pool, mini golf and dining areas operate entirely separate from the casino floors.
